1st International Conference on UNIVERSAL ACCESS IN HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION (UAHCI) Call for Paper
Keywords:

You are cordially invited to participate in the 1st International Conference on "UNIVERSAL ACCESS IN HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION", to be held jointly under one management and one registration with HCI International 2001 (9th International conference on Human-Computer Interaction).

The conference objective is to provide an international forum for the dissemination and exchange of scientific information on theoretical, generic, and applied issues of universal access and usability in Human-Computer Interaction, with particular emphasis to the notion of diversity regarding users and context of use.

The conference solicits papers reporting results, covering a broad range of research and development activities that underpin computer-mediated human activities in the emerging Information Society. Particular emphasis will be given to the notion of Universal Design, in order to facilitate equitable access, high quality interaction and, thus, ultimately acceptability of Information Society Technologies by the broadest possible end-user population (citizens of the Information Society). This population includes people with different cultural, educational, training and employment background, novice and experienced computer users, the very young and the elderly, and people with different types of physical, sensorial, cognitive or situational disabilities, in various interaction contexts and scenarios of use.

Areas of interest

Areas of interest, for which papers are solicited, include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Accessibility guidelines
- Adaptive interaction
- Alternative I/O techniques
